DAVID LARWILL

While checking some of the links here this morning I discovered that the link to David Larwill had expired. So while searching for a current link I came across this interview with Tiriel Mora that was filmed in 2007. Sadly David Larwill passed away last year; known fondly as the ‘larrikin painter’ I am certain that he is sorely missed. It is always a treat to hear an artist talk about their work. David designed one of my all time favorite tapestries woven by the Australian Tapestry Workshop. ‘Celebration’ a huge 2.85 x 4m tapestry commissioned by the Victorian Government as a gift to Singapore for their new arts centre on the esplanade.  If you are ever in Singapore take the opportunity to go and see it. The building is easy to find as it stands out in the city landscape.
