3rd ANNIVERSARY BLACK SATURDAY BUSH FIRES

Strathewen: The Letterbox Project from ABC Open Goulburn Valley on Vimeo.

Today is the 3rd anniversary of the terrible Black Saturday Bushfires here in Victoria. Many people still are without a home, many will never rebuild on their properties.
This day last year I traveled through King Lake and other fire ravaged towns noticing regrowth, rebuilding and many blocks of land for sale.
This program shows the spirit of community in difficult times. Because the mountain area is so rural. you often come across large groups of letter boxes. Next time I am in the area I will certainly be on the lookout for these.

Hi, yes it is inspiring, it gives you that lump in the throat feeling of hope after such devastation.
