In July 2008, conservator Tina Kane gave a lecture ‘Reclaiming the Past’ at the Ararat Regional Art Gallery. Tina spoke about the years that she had been involved in the meticulous restoration of this tapestry. As a tapestry weaver I was awestruck by the patience and dedication that had gone into this project. Restoration began in 1974 and was not completed until 2009. After the inspiring talk that Tina gave detailing the restoration process it if wonderful to see this documentary and view the finished tapestry now again on public display.
